Met League: End of Season Report

The 2023/2024 Met league season is over, finishing with two and a half laps of the muddy banks of Trent Park. The club has had a fantastic season with the men’s A team grabbing their highest ever number of points, and the women’s team finishing in second place to London Heathside by a mere 48 points over the five races. This meant that we just missed out on the Howard-Williams trophy once again in a tie-breaker with London Heathside, with it coming down to the narrow margin of total number of overall team wins.

The overall trophy may have slipped from our grasp for another year but the support and spirit of VPH&THAC was greater than ever with our cheering being heard until the last runners crossed the line.

Words by Lydia Briggs

The season has seen us display the highest turnout over any other club in the league, with members old and new showing inspirational levels of commitment and energy to battle it against the other teams over the hills and mud of Greater London. Huge congratulations to the 153 club members who raced in the season, with an extra thank you to the 10 women and 25 men who raced at least 4 out of the 5 races.
