Race report: VPH&THAC at the European U23 Championships, Finland
Gavin LauA very eventful 30 days for one of our athletes Luca Minale. On the 17 June, at the England Athletics U20 & U23 Open Championships at Chelmsford, he achieved the European U23 qualifying standard for the 3000m Steeple Chase in a time of 08:54:02 (bib number 423 in the race photo below).
Reaching a significant milestone to represent Team GB for the first time at the European U23 Championships held at Leppävaaran Stadion, Espoo in Finland. He ran a solid heat (in 8:52:26) and qualified for the final on Sunday 16 July. An impressive 13th place (in 9:02:18) amongst a deep field. Congratulations Luca and more to come for sure!
