Club events: Boswall League results 2021/22

203 of you took part in at least one of the autumn/winter league races that count towards Boswall League in 2021/22. But only points from your 15 best races count.

Please note that people can’t be awarded in more than one age category (means more medals are given out!) so winners and runners-up are awarded for their youngest category that they position highest in.

Also note that age category points are weighted, to ensure our oldest runners that may be slower (there are plenty that are also faster) still have the opportunity to score points, so vet positions may be different to overall standings.

This year’s overall winners are the ever impressive Laura Thompson and league first timer Jamie Cornuaud, who stole the win by just one point!

2nd place overall: Joe Dale and Captain Lily Zechmann

3rd place overall: Lydia Briggs and Andrew Barrington

Vets:

V40 women: Ali Trauttmansdorff (who is actually V50) followed by Mandy Dohren and Sue Bint

V40 men: Ol’Captain Simeon Bennett (who raced most races out of everyone) followed by Ben Wickham and Tim Murray

V50 men: Russell Gillett-Toone (possibly another league newbie) – followed by Richard Bryant and Gerry Akrigg

V50 women: Katrin Flikschuh (actually V60) followed by Joyce Berry and Sarah Knox.

We didn’t have any V60 winners last time, but this year we have a full podium….

V60 women: June Barrow-Green (frequent Boswall league veteran winner) followed by Philippa Cockman and Pauline Jobson

V60 men: William Burbridge-James (ran almost half the races the in the league) followed by Keithly Mussington and Coach Mick Cairns

You can check the full standings and you own placings here.

The two overall winners get their names on the much sought after Boswall League trophies and vet winners and runners-up receive medals! These will be given out at the AGM in December.

Congratulations to all who took part and thanks to the volunteers who have helped with the scoring! We hope to keep you posted on this year’s Boswall League in a more timely fashion.
