Racing & Events round up

Club members have been involved in many unique events over the recent summer months. The smiles speak for themselves and we love the sight of the jade and blue being proudly represented: 

• Night of the 10000m PBs (14th May): they were on TV!
• Hackney Half (22nd May): a big turnout at this local marque race.
• Man Vs Horse (11th June): congratulations to the podium place for Sam Humphreys (2nd, 2:29:13).
• SAL (12th June): a great turnout of competitors at Mile End with maximum points in 800m from Eleanor D and Lily Z, and 5000m for Mandy D and Lydia B!
• John Clarke Fell Race (17th June): congratulations to all who competed in this classic fell race. Joe Dale 1st overall, 22:20. Kelly Clark 1st lady (20th overall), 26:36.
• Lea Valley 50km Camino Ultra (18th June): hats off to Anna F, Oliver J and Simon Wykes for running this epic distance.
• Finsbury Park 5000m (1st July): we saw some excellent placing for our club athletes at the track event hosted by London Heathside.
• World Master Athletics Finland (2nd July): David Shortridge, Gold medal winner, M50 4x400m relays.
• Snowdonia Trail Marathon Festival (10th July): The third appearance for the club at this iconic Welsh mountain range event.
• Forest Five (6th August): Congratulations to the series winners Dominic Baxter and June Barrow-Green. A hat trick of wins for Dominic and both with very consistent times across the Epping Forest based series.
