Race Reports: VPH&THAC representing at the County XC champs across the UK!
Gavin LauThe XC county championships did not disappoint… fantastic racing across the early winter fixtures!
Many club members participated at the different venues, and came out of them in differing degrees of muddiness. Well done to all our runners, and some highlights of standout club performances below. Adam Millbery, Luca Minale and James Hotham also earned an invitation to race at the upcoming Inter Counties XC Champs taking place on Loughborough on the 9 March 2024.
- Combined Worcester/Warwickshire XC champs, Saturday 16 December: Congratulations to Adam Millbery in placing 7th overall (31:42).
- Middlesex XC champs, Saturday 6 January: Congratulations to Lyra MacDonald (2nd, 24:48), Ruby James (3rd, 25:32) and Monika Panoutsou (4th, 26:16) who won the U17 girls team trophy! Luca Minale ran a fantastic race to reach the podium in 2nd place (41:52) in the overall men’s race, with Greg Divall in 13th (44:19). Official results are published here.
- Essex XC champs, Saturday 6 January: A superb showing by James Hotham (43:51), achieving a high placing at 11th overall in a stacked field. Official results are published here.
