Race Report: London Marathon 2022

Sunday 2nd October. This iconic race took one final bow in its Autumn setting, with approximately 50+ club runners joining the start line after a stint of summer training. The cheer squads were ready at mile 13/22 and laced elsewhere across the course waiting in anticipation for the jade & blue to glide past us as animated spectators.

 

Spirits were high and club vests aplenty. These amazing photos captured by Gigi Giannella really give the essence of the moment and what marathon day means to many of us: celebration, excitement, grit, determination and glory. Inspiring runs from June Barrow-Green and Coach Steve Hobbs on returning to the course for an impressive 20th and 10th time respectively. Props to all our PB heroes and first timers who conquered one of the most coveted marathon majors.
