Annual General Meeting
The 2019 annual general meeting (AGM) of the club will be held immediately after the senior road training session on Thursday 14th November 2019 at 8:30pm in the main hall of the clubhouse at St Augustine’s Hall, Cadogan Terrace, London, E9 5EG.
Documentation will be available for download prior to the meeting.
Please note only fully paid-up members are entitled to vote at the AGM.
AGM motions may be submitted to Rachel Morison no later than Thursday 7th November 2019.
Nominations may be submitted for:
- Most improved athlete awards: Awarded to those members who have improved the most over the past 12 months. There are categories for junior and senior track and field athletes, and senior road and cross-country athletes. Nominations for the latter should contain a supporting statement and should be submitted to Gavin Lau no later than Thursday 7th November 2019.
- Life Vice President: This is the highest honour that can be bestowed by any athletics club and is not to be taken lightly. In the 136 years of combined history of VPH and THAC, there have only been 16 Life Vice Presidents. The last member to be so honoured was Alf Vickers in 2013. Nominations should contain a supporting statement and should be submitted Rachel Morison no later than Thursday 7th November 2019. Eligible candidates for Life Vice President must be approved at an Annual General Meeting by a three fourths majority decision of all those members present, as per rule 2.8.
The board may also recommend members for life membership under rule 3.8: “Life membership of the club may be awarded to any member upon completion of 21 years continuous membership or for outstanding service to the Club. An eligible candidate must be recommended by the trustees and be approved at an AGM by a three-fourths majority decision of all those members present.” Dave Robinson, Simeon Bennett and Mick Cairns were the last members to be elected to Life Membership in 2018.
